3. Remove the seawater pump cover. See

your authorized Yanmar dealer or

distributor.

4. Remove zinc anodes from the heat

exchanger (Figure 1, (4)) and charge

air cooler (Figure 1, (5)) and allow

water to drain from housings.

5. Engines having the optional

high-rise exhaust elbow: Open drain

cock (Figure 2, (1)) and allow water to

drain. Remove and inspect zinc anode

(Figure 2, (2)).

IMPORTANT

Do not use thread sealer or thread

sealing tape when installing zinc

anodes. Anodes must make good

metal-to-metal contact to perform

properly.

6. Inspect condition of zinc anodes. Install

anodes. See Replace the Zinc Anodes

on page 93.

7. Close all drain cocks.
